Founded in 1956, Inner Mongolia Medical College was the first medical institute of
higher education by the Central Government in an area inhabited by minority
nationalities. The college is composed of 9 teaching-departments and two branch schools
of adult education. The college now has 71 professors and 309 associate professors. The
total number of registered students is over 6,000 including 450 graduates and 17
foreign students.
