Guangxi Normal University was established in 1932. It provides over 60 junior college and undergraduate programs, 25 higher vocational programs, and 33 Master's degree programs. Its library houses more than 1.7 million volumes of books. It now has a staff of more than 2,100, and a student population of 40 thousand of whom there are 14 thousand students taking full-time junior college and undergraduate programs, 1,100 graduate students working for Master's degree, 3,000 in-service graduate students, 15 thousand correspondence students, and 400 international students. Of the 876 of its full-time teaching staff, there are 109 professors and 299 associate professors, the average age being 37.52. Among the teachers, 84 people hold doctorates, 70 doctor degree candidates, and 469 holding master's degrees and higher.
