Founded in 1907, Fujian Normal University (FNU) has gone through many vicissitudes over the past century. Now it has grown into a comprehensive university of both the arts and science, consisting of 27 colleges, with 58 specialties for majors and professional training, 69 disciplines offering M.A. degrees and 18 offering Ph.D. degrees. Complete training system has been formed; under which programs for B.A., M.A., Ph.D. degrees and postdoctoral research are provided. At present, the university has 1,232 teaching and research staff, of whom 50% are professors, associate professors and research fellows. It is also facilitated with affiliated kindergarten, primary school and high school. The university has 30,000 enrolled undergraduates and 2,700 graduates.
