Briefing: Beihang University was founded in October 1952 as Beijing Aeronautics Institute and renamed in April 1988. BUAA (formerly Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronauticsis) was the first university of aeronautical and astronautical engineering in China. At present, the university comprises 17 schools and 6 departments, Doctoral degrees are awarded in 36, master degrees in 65, and bachelor degrees in 39 specialties.
